Xero Interface Changes

From mid-September 2025, new and existing Xero organisations will see an updated interface. Some sections of the software have new names or may be accessed through different menus. Any books that were published prior to the changes being made may have instructions that do no not match the current version of the software.

The key change is that the Sales and Purchases menu items now have their own menus, instead of being part of the Business menu.

Here is a summary of how that impacts instructions provided in the learning materials and textbooks:

 Instruction in Book

 Click Business > Invoices > …

  Click Sales > Invoices > …

 Click Business > Quotes > …

 Click Sales > Quotes > …

 Click Business > Sales Overview

 Click Sales > Sales Overview

Click Business > Bills to Pay > …

 Click Purchases > Bills > …

Click Business > Purchase Orders >

Click Purchases > Purchase Orders >

 Click Business > Purchase Overview

 Click Purchases > Purchases Overview

Editions published after September 2025 are written to the new interface.

From January 2026 all our current Xero publications will have a revised digital version available with the instructions updated to match the latest interface.
